nhs vouchers
The NHS provides vouchers to pay for or go toward the cost of prescribed glasses or contact lenses for some people. The NHS also provides free eye tests to some individuals.
- Under 16s (annually)
- Under 19s in full-time education (every two years)
- Over 60s (every two years)
- People (or partners of people) on Income Support, Disabled Person's Tax Credit, income-based Job-Seeker's Allowance, or Working Families' Tax Credit (every two years)
- Holders (or partners of holders) of an exemption certificate (HC2). (We can also provide a HC1 and HC5 forms, for a potential refund on anything you have already paid – ask in store for details)
- People who need certain complex lenses (annually)
- People diagnosed as diabetic or with glaucoma (annually)
- People aged 40 or over who are the brother, sister or child of a diagnosed glaucoma patient (annually)
It's not that complicated to use an NHS voucher toward the cost of your glasses just ask in store for details.
Children's glasses can take a bit of a beating so we issue NHS interim vouchers to all children under the age of 16. This covers loss, damage or broken glasses in between children’s eye exams.
