what to expect at your eye exam

We recommend you have an eye exam at least every two years. The resident Optometrist at Blink Opticians, ( Amanda) will be able to tailor your eye test to suit your exact needs. If you are wearing contact lenses, you need to remove them before your eyes are tested unless you are having an aftercare appointment. Your eye test will give an accurate assessment of your ability to see and will also gauge the general health of your eyes which can lead to the early diagnosis of general health problems such as diabetes or high blood pressure. So there’s more to your eye test than meets the eye!

Blink Opticians allows enough time to check your eyes thoroughly. We have no head office pressure to see a certain number of patients per day so we’ll spend however long we need to test your eyes, doing  all the tests required for your given symptoms.

The eye exam for kids
The eye test will be adapted to the age and capability of the child, so don’t think that your child is too young for an eye exam. It is very important that children are seen before they start school.  We can even find their prescription without asking them any difficult questions using a skilled technique called Retinoscopy. And all our young patients get a free coloring pack to take away!
