Legally, your company should pay for you to have an eye exam if you are classed as a VDU user.  VDU’s cannot damage your eyes, or make you need glasses, but they can exacerbate an underlying uncorrected prescription.

If you need glasses only when you use a VDU at work then your company have to pay for them. There is some misunderstanding that companies should pay for spectacles for people who already wear them, but this is not the case. We also accept eye care vouchers from your employer.
